I have to acknowledge the receipt of your

letter of the 2nd inst., relating to the extradition

case Rex v. Chung Sau-nam, and to say that we are

communitating a copy of it LO he Colonial Office.

2. We are informed by that department that on

the 29th April a telegram was received from the Governor

of the Colony on the subject, as follows :-

"My confidential despatch March 19th

person named applies for fresh writ

N of Habeas Corpus: despatch follows

by mail."
